The school is very nice, but very different from the school in Norway. We learn english, french and swahili. I am allso taking norwegian at the internet, so I am learning 4 diferent languages!
At the school you can choose a club. The club you choose is a sport/instrument you will be doing on tuesdays and thursdays. I chose swimming. We allso have swimming 1 time a week, so I have 3 times every week. The swimming is a bit hard, because everyone at the school is very good, but I am not good at all! They have something they call freestyle in the swimming, and that means to crawl. I can't even crawl right, so it is kind of hard. Now we are learning delfin hop...
Here you can see my time schedule:

Dalla dalla!
Here in Zanzibar thay have something called Dalla dalla. It is their kind of bus. It cost only 300 shilling (1.09 NOK and 0.0006 USD) per person if you are going to town. It is around 5 kilometer to town, so I think it is very cheap.
Here you can see my mum going inside a Dalla dalla. The Dalla dalla is allways full (it came much more people on, before we left). Sometimes people sit in the middle because there is no more space at the seats.

The first day at school!
Today it was the first day at school. At the school we have to wear school uniform, dark green shorts/skirt/pants and a white t-shirt with the ISZ (International school of Zanzibar) sign on. We have been in a store to buy the material and then been to a tailor to make it. We could choose between shorts, skirt and pants and I chose shorts. We were supposed to get the t-shirts at school, but they had not got my size yet, so I had to wear a normal t-shirt. At the start of the first day, Terry Binns (Headmaster) told us where to go. I am in year 8 and we were going to the french room. When we got there I found out that it is only 9 girls and 2 boys in my class. We got a lot of books, and I had a way to small bag for all of it, so I couldn't close it. We had French, geography, science and art today. Every day we have a little snackbreak, and a longer lunch. In my class the students are from a lot of different countries like: Germany, South-Africa, Italy, Iran, Korea and Tanzania. On the school we learn English, Swahili and French. And at home I am taking Norwegian lessons at the internet, so I am learning 4 languages! At the school you can get detentions. That will happen after school on fridays. Here are some of the things you can get detention for: Chewing gum-30min, no homework-60min, no book-30min or no equipment-30min. That was just some of them, it is 9 ways you can get detention.
In the store where we bought material for the school uniform shorts!
On my way to school with a new bike and the school uniform shorts!
Calling to pray!
Geckos!
It is a lot of geckos on the walls here in Zanzibar. One they it was thousens of flying insects in the air, and that is good food for the gecko. On this video you can see geckos eating them.

Prices!
In Zanzibar money are called shilling(TZS).
It is very different from the money we use in Norway (NOK) and from USD.
An example: 10.000 TZS = 6.37 USD = 36.9 NOK. So if you want to take out som money, sometimes it will be big piles of money. So it looks like we have a lot of money. The test!
Today I was at the school to do a test. We thought that it would be a test in math , but is was an english writing and reading test. We were three persons, me, a girl and her brother from Korea. First we read a text around five pages. We got different challenges because we were not at the same age. We got 15 minutes to read the text. Then we got one hour to answer questions. It was around seven pages with questions. The questions was to the text. The text was about that you should allways be prepared before you go out in the water in a boat. When we were done with that, we got a 15 minutes break. And then, this is the funny part. We got one hour, we were supposed to write three pages about the rainforest world. On Montessori we had not learned anything about the issue exept that coca cola is bad because they want to destroy the forest. We had maybe learned a little bit more, but I didn't remember. And then we were supposed to write two pages about the Pangolin. I had no idea about what Pangoline was so I asked the teatcher. She said it was an animal that had a long nose and used the nose to eat animals. So that was exactly what I wrote. I was supposed to write 2 pages, I wrote one sentense! Tomorrow we are going to have math, so I wonder how that will be.
