Weekend in Jambiani!

This weekend I went to Selma's hotel in Jambiani, together with Selma and Laila-Sophie. We drove home from school on friday, and didn't do much that day...

We didn't go late to bed, because the next morning we had to wake up at 5.40. The reason is that you can not run in the middle of the day in Zanzibar. That is too hot. So you have to run early in the morning or at night  We went running under the moonshine. Laila would rather sleep, so she didn't come.

We ran about 3 kilometres, not very fast, but at least we did it!

Snake! We suddenly saw this one next to us, so I quickly took a picture and then we ran away. I think it was dead...

When we got back, Laila wanted to sleep more, so we went down to eat breakfast, we woke Laila up at 9.

We used the whole day laying in the sun by the pool, doing homework. We also took some cool pictures!

Eating by the pool!

Homework...

Under the jetty.

Jumping from the jetty!

Underwater ♥

At night we ate and then there was a football match that they showed. Laila didn't want to watch, so Selma and I watched.

We spent most of the day by the pool on Sunday too. We wanted to get a tan!

Later a music band came and Laila wanted to try the guitar, so we went to them and asked if she could try. They said yes, and tought her a little bit, but she did know how to play "Malaika".

After dinner, Selma and I took some cool pictures underwater!

On Monday we ate pancakes for breakfast!

Then we walked on the beach, to eat at a restaurant.

We ate, walked back, and quickly packed our stuff. The taxi brought all three of us home. Selma went to Laila's house, and I went home.

We have holiday the rest of the week :)

There is a place at the beach with 100 steps, where you can run up and down. Almost every night, it is full of people! People run up and down, slow and fast. People walk on their hands, strech, run and does trix. There is also a group of people who often are there to exercise. They sing and everyone does the same at the same time.

Here is a video my dad made from the beach: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYxJ_ua_L-8&feature=youtu.be

17th of May!

This might be a little bit hard to understand for people who are not from Norway, so I will quickly explain.
The 17th of May is Norway's Nation Day, that is when we got our constitution, in year 1814. We celebrate that really big! Early in the morning all the children in Norway walk in a parade singing out national anthem and other Norwegian songs with music orchestras. In the area where I live, we walk past the crown Prince, the crown Princess and their children.
In Oslo, tens of thousands children walk past the King, this is how it looks like:

After that we go to the school and there it is a lot of games. You can play the wheel of fortune, walk on stilts, buy some food and a lot more!
After the celebration at school, everybody goes home and many have another celebration at home with their family.

These are some pictures from the celebration in Norway:
This is something we call a potato race!

Me and Ingvild when we were small!
This is another special, Norwegian race :)

So, the 17th of May was yesterday, and it wasn't exactly like in Norway...
First I went to school, and later we went to a nice restaurant in town.
With our little flag!

And some delicious food!

That was the celebration this year!

My birthday!

My day started with a delicious breakfast with pancakes and presents!

I got a toothbrush! My dad thought it was special because it is a Norwegian brand which he found here in Zanzibar.
An underwater camera!

And I got a very nice, pink watch!

And sports earphones!

This nice shorts I got from Jacqueline!

This is from my parents

From my parents

And from Jacqueline!

After breakfast I went to school with a box full of muffins which we ate in Swahili class!

After school all the girls in my class and me walked from school to my house.
There we first played bowling with waterbottles and handballs. We were three teams.
Then we went inside and ate pizza!

After that I opened my presents...

...and then we had a quiz!

After the quiz, we changed and went to swim at Mbweni Ruins!

There all the teams were going to set all the people up for a group photo. These are the pictures!

And then the teams were going to make either a crocodile or an elephant in the sand.

This one was a bad picture, but if you turn it sideways you can see that it is a crocodile!

After that we went home and ate cake!
After the cake we played a game called 30 seconds:

Then we just "chilled out" a bit and went to sleep.

The next morning we watched half of a movie...

Then we cycled around in the neighbourhood and most of them left.
Jane and Ruhi were the last ones to leave and they took a Dala dala alone!

That was my birthday!
